Hello all,

I have an intercom system at home ( AIPHONE LEM-1DL, very common in appartments ) and wanted to add the arlo audio doorbell but I still keep the old intercom as a backup.

I'm not sure arlo uses something like than a regular open/closed swith or NO/NC relay... I would just like the arlo button to do the same as when you press the intercom ring button.

Manual says : "The Arlo Audio Doorbell is compatible with AC-powered mechanical and digital chimes operating between 8-24 volts. The Arlo Audio Doorbell is not compatible with wireless door chimes or any chime or intercom system using a DC transformer."

Doesn't help much... intercom has 3 wire... Here is the instruction manual.

Has anyone tried it? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi. Do you own/have access to a multimeter (voltmeter) ?
If so, pop the cover on the existing unit and measure across the pins shown as supply.
According to your manual, it could be EITHER ac or dc used.
If it is AC, coupling to the arlo should be easy. If it is DC, it may get a bit more difficilult, although nothing is impossible...
