UK Rechargeable Batteries?

Reading through the long thread it seems that the D4 charger is the one to get but is there not a recommendation for batteries for UKUK people.

EagleTec is mentioned but would need importing I think.

Anyone from the UK know where to get them from or which ones are good?

Of the ones out there in use...

Stay away from any china cells ending in "fire"

Stay away from any rated more than 800mahr ( normal quality known cells will be 650-750 mahr ) as it will be a false rating

USE A CELL WITH PROTECTION FOR OVERCHARGE / OVERDRAIN

I've used the nitecores and eagletec ( two spellings on the second but same )

Both IMO work great, but I like the nitecore a bit better ( got them at a good price ).

Third choice may be the Olights

Don't know what is available to you in the UK

Hey thanks for that. Just had a search on Amazon UK and seems Nitecore is stocked there too so should be fine ordering from here hopefully. Nitecore are pricey but heard they're worth it.

Eagletac isn't made or barely sold here so will leave them for now. I do see the Olites though that people have been mentioning so will also keep an eye on the main thread

Also, recommendations n how many batteries I'd need for 2 cameras? 8 certainly, worth getting 16 or 12 instead? They are pretty pricey (£6-8 each over here)

Guess it dependson how much you can spend at one time or do you have the time to recharge and replace....

In the beginning, I had a few cameras and ONLY one spare set or 4... worked out ok as 1) the camera drain at different rates due to usage 2) I could always change out a day or two early as needed.

TIP:

Running rechargeables means changing out more often, I found I went an avg of 50 days +/- on a set of cells. So I always add the DATE at the end of camera name so I would quickly know aprox how much time was left before swap.
