This takes great shots and is an easy setup...HOWEVER...if batteries last 3-4 ...the cost is astronomical.....16 batteries at $11 each..$171.00....times three or four times a year....approx $700 a year.....Now the interesting fact....Netgear is part of NORTEL....which is owned by CIENA ....Ciena is a conglomerate with Proctor and Gamble who makes Duracell Batteries...viola a connection...NETGEAR says NOT to use rechargeable batteries....I am taking my setup back.....I can get MONITORED Wireless for less money a year by ADT....which includes Fire and Police calling...and cell phone monitoring....ARLO Would be wonderful if they used an economical battery size and less batteries in each camera.......Its all about overcharging and making money on a clientele who have been violated by burglars....

If you're paying $11 for a single CR123A battery you're too lazy to shop around and are paying 1,100% markup.

Nope... I paid $1.35 each for my last batch of batteries from Battery Junction

And at a low end of usage 4 months per set, so in your example 16 batteries would be $21.60 and 3x a year would be only $64.80.

In real world tho , some of my low use cams run 7 months, so it would really be $50+/- per year

Netgear hasn't been owned by Bay Networks (which was bought by Nortel) for nealy 15 years. Nortel doesn't own or isn't owned by anyone because they no longer exist - they dissovled in 2009.

If your staying with the OEM primary cells your looking at 3 Volt ( 3.2v when tested new ) Lithium CR123C cells and all willbe about 1500mahr +/-

like panasonic, energizers, duracell, and others
