The scheduler is nice however if you are at home at a time where motion detection is on and you forgot that it's on lets say you are off from work sick that day and you are walking around not fully clothed and you and roomate are getting all of these updates.

It would be great if you had a key chain transmitter that could automaticly turn-off the motion detection as long as you are in wifi range and turn-on once you are out of range.

post it here to help get it done!

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Arlo-Idea-Exchange/idb-p/arlo-idea-exchange

I usu set the schedule at certain time and/or certain cameras.... so I don't really worry about the lack of clothes.

But as far as a key chain device, its just easy to turn all off via phone or turn schedule off

Yes I get it as far as turning on and off the schdueler (I did it to day). The hold point of the key chain transmitter is that you don't have to think about it.

"You don't have to think about it" until a bad guy follows you into your house at night and you have no video, or bad guy finds your keys, or you leave home w/o your keys, etc.

Well Grak, sometimes in order to have convenience, we have to accept the risk that comes with it.

Personally, I would love to have a keychain remote. One with the ability to maybe engage more than two modes. Example:

One with the ability to maybe engage more than two modes. For example,
Button 0 = mode zero or all off
Button 1 = all on
Button 2 = indoor toggle (or zone "x"as defined by the user)
Button 3 = etc

Yes… I know what you are thinking, we can already do this through our smart phones. But the smart phone app is still too clumsy to quickly engage or disengage a new mode. It is partly the cumbersome infrastructure like taking up to a minute to log on to my account, waiting for the "Mode" button to appear (it is aggravatingly slow), etc, and that makes it still too clumsy, especially when I'm in my own driveway or sitting in the room with the base unit right next to me!

Hey Target, I agree with you for the most part.

I have keychain remotes for my Livewatch security system. My comments were specifically directed toward the OP's comment to have a keyfob that would ***automatically*** deactivate the system when he/she is present.
